Eeben - professional Oriental Dancer, Choreographer, Teacher
Eeben has been practising Oriental Dance now for more than 8 years. During this time she has worked both as a dancer and teacher around Europe and the Middle East.
Eeben has worked with live music ensembles and participated in various projects with musicians. She gives dance courses, workshops and lectures, conducts dance groups, has founded two dance organisations, organized different Oriental Dance events and haflas, and written several Oriental Dance and culture related articles.
In 2008 Eeben received the 1st price from the International Oriental Dance Festival competition in both local and international professional solo category in Tallinn, Estonia. The same year she received 2nd place in the Nile Group Festival group category competition in Cairo, Egypt. In 2010 Eeben again won 1st prize in the International Egyptian Oriental Dance Professional Solo category of Cairo Festival in Budapest, Hungary. In 2011 she was the 2nd place winner at London´s biggest Oriental dance festival, the Fantasia Festival.
Eeben has a BA degree in Near Eastern in Asian Culture and is currently obtaining her Master´s in Social Anthropology in the University of Oxford.
Eeben - Professionaalne kõhutantsija, koreograaf, õpetaja
Eeben on kõhutantsuga tänaseks tegelenud juba üle 8 aasta. Selle aja jooksul on ta tantsijana töötanud Prantsusmaal (Pariis, La Rochelle), Türgis (Alanya), esinenud solistina lisaks Euroopa maadele ka Marokos ja Egiptuses, esinenud koos live-ansamblitega ja osalenud erinevates projektides muusikutega, andnud kursuseid, loenguid ja workshoppe üle Eesti, juhendanud gruppe erinevates tantsustuudiotes, asutanud kaks idamaise tantsu alast ettevõtet, korraldanud erinevaid tantsuüritusi ning kirjutanud mitmeid kõhutantsu alaseid artikleid. Eeben on õppinud mitmete kodumaiste aga ka välismaiste õpetajate juures, täiendanud end klassikalises ja jazztantsus, ladina-ameerika ja aafrika tantsudes. 2008. aastal pälvis Eeben Rahvusvahelisel Idamaise tantsu festivalil nii Eesti kui ka rahvusvahelises kategoorias I koha, samal aastal võideti Egiptuses toimunud Nile Group tantsufestivali konkursil trupikategoorias auväärne II koht. Aastal 2010 võitis Eeben Budapestis toimunud Cairo! festivalil Egiptuse stiilis kõhutantsu professionaalses soolokategoorias I koha. 2010. aastal lõpetas Eeben Tallinna Ülikooli Lähis-Ida ja Aasia kultuuriloo õppetooli ning alates 2011. aasta oktoobrist õpib Oxfordi Ülikooli sotsiaalantropoloogia õppetoolil magistriõppes.

My long time student and a wonderfully talented dancer, Shalini, just received 1st place at the Anippe Oriental Dance competition in Switzerland! I cannot describe how proud and happy I am... Congratulations to her, such a star!
Eeben performing at Planet Egypt Showcase in London
Thursday, 26th January, Eeben will be performing at the Planet Egypt Showcase, organised by Anne White from the world famous Middle Eastern dance and music community, Planet Egypt. Performances will be by Ranya Renee from New York City, Meret, Linda Parker, Hazel King, Anne White and Eeben from Estonia - Prize winner of Fantasia Festival December 2011.
The event will also feature live music, courtesy of The Mesopotamia Band with Tarab singer Yasin Mesopotamian, Nashwan Media on org, Ali Kirdar and Aly Minyawi on Tabla and Req, with dancers Fiora and Ayanna Raqs accompanying them.

Eeben winning 2nd place at the Fantasia Festival, London!
Eeben has brought back the silver medal from the Fantasia Festival Isis Award competition in London, December 10th 2011! The Oriental solo competition hosted 20 participants from different countries and awarded the best three: first place - Antje Maria Lossin, second pace - Eeben, third place - Jannah (Jana Polívková). Congratulations!

Eeben competing at the Fantasia Festival in London, UK for the Isis Award for Oriental Soloists!
The Fantasia Festival is one of the biggest Oriental Dance festivals in London, organised by the Josephine Wise Academy of Oriental Dance. Teachers from Australia, Finland, France, Germany, South Africa, the USA and the United Kingdom will be teaching workshops throughout the weekend and performing on stage at the show taking place on Saturday, 10th of December. The competition takes place on Saturday, 10th of December.

With guest star performance by Ozgen, you can expect to see everything from modern Cairo style bellydance to classic Raqs Sharqi, from earthy folkloric dances to experimental fusion, all presented in a modern theatre with professional quality sound and lighting. There will also be a small bazaar selling sparkly goodies and dancewear.

Bellydance Fundraiser Cairo Night in Tallinn
Suured tänud veelkord kõigile, kes osalesid 24 ja 25 septembri kursustel Salme Kultuurikeskuses ja laupäevaõhtusel Cairo Nightil NO99 Jazziklubis! Kursustele ja peole tuldi kokku üle terve Eesti, kaugeimad tantsijad jõudsid Tallinnasse Saaremaalt. Meie peaesineja Aladin Abbas sõitis siia Rootsist ning õpetas koos Pille Roosiga kõhutantsu õpetajate kursustel, tutvustades lähemalt Egiptuse rütme, ning andis Cairo Nightil imeilusa kontserdi kahes osas, lauldes, mängides oud-i (lautolaadne keelpill) ja Egiptuse tablat (trumm). Õhtul toimus ka heategevuslik loterii, mille iga loos võitis. Auhindade hulgas oli ehteid, kõhutantsu DVD-sid, eratunde erinevatelt õpetajatelt, õmblusteenused, õhtusöök restoranis, massaa¸, meigikoolitus, ning peaauhind oli 200 € väärtuses kursuste pakett VII Rahvusvahelisel Idamaise Tantsu Festivalil Tallinnas.

Hey everyone!
Juba nädala pärast on võimalik tulla vaatama minu esinemist Tallinnas Egiptuse ja Kairo teemalisel peol nimega Cairo Night, mis toimub NO99 teatri keldrisaalis laupäeval 24-ndal septembril algusega kell 21:00. Üritus on kõigile huvilistele avatud, laval on Eesti idamaise tantsu artistid ning muusikud Eestist ja Egiptusest. Lisaks sellele on ürituse eesmärgiks ka toetada minu õpinguid Inglismaal Oxfordi Ülikoolis. Samuti on kõik huvilised oodatud samal nädalavahetusel kursustele Salme kultuurikeskuses. Info allpool. Only one week is left until my next performance in Tallinn, taking place at the Egypt and Cairo themed party Cairo Night, held at the NO99 theatre (address: Sakala 3), beginning at 9 pm on September 24. The event is open for everyne. Performances will be by various oriental dance artists from Estonia and musicians from Estonia and Egypt. One of the aims of the event is also to support my studies in the UK in Oxford University. You are also very welcome to Oriental Dance workshops taking place at Salme Cultural Centre the same weekend. All information is below. I really look forward to seeing you there! :)

Veedame laupäeva õhtu Kairo stiilis ja kuulutame kõhutantsu hooaja avatuks! Õhtu jooksul astuvad üles mitmed idamaise tantsu artistid, peaesinejateks on Egiptuse muusik Aladin Abbas koos Bombillazest tuntud Kill Babaga. Õhtu eesmärk on ühtlasi ka toetada Eesti kõhutantsijat Eebenit õpingutel Oxfordi Ülikoolis. Selleks on kõigil võimalus osaleda heategevuslikul loteriil ning lisaks toetamisele võita põnevaid auhindu!
